Hi, I’m Robert Minto. I’m a writer — a book critic and essayist. I write mostly about translated fiction, intellectual history, social philosophy, and art.
I’m also a PhD ABD in philosophy at Boston College, where I’m writing a dissertation about the aesthetics of evil. I’m a socialist and a feminist, deeply interested in the past and present of left theory and organizing.
Essaying to be is a place for short personal essays inspired by my reading and looking.
